- 1 package of crescent roll dough (8 oz)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional)
- 1 tablespoon poppy seeds (optional)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooking spray or parchment paper (for baking)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Open the package of crescent roll dough and unroll it on a clean, flat surface.
- Cut the dough into smaller triangles, about 3 inches wide at the base and 4 inches tall.
- If using cheese, sprinkle a small amount at the wide end of each triangle.
- Open the package of mini cocktail sausages, drain any liquid, and pat them dry.
- Optionally, brush a small amount of Dijon mustard on the wide end of the dough triangle.
- Place one mini cocktail sausage at the wide end of a dough triangle.
- Roll the dough around the sausage, tucking the point underneath to secure it.
- Repeat for all sausages and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or greased with cooking spray.
- In a small bowl, whisk the egg to create an egg wash.
- Brush the egg wash over the tops of each mini pig in a blanket.
- Optionally, sprinkle poppy seeds on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
- Transfer to a serving platter and serve warm or at room temperature.
- Offer a variety of dipping sauces like ketchup, mustard, or barbecue sauce.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
