Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package of mini cocktail sausages (about 12 oz)
  • 1 package of crescent roll dough (8 oz)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds (optional)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking spray or parchment paper (for baking)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Open the package of crescent roll dough and unroll it on a clean, flat surface.
  3. Cut the dough into smaller triangles, about 3 inches wide at the base and 4 inches tall.
  4. If using cheese, sprinkle a small amount at the wide end of each triangle.
  5. Open the package of mini cocktail sausages, drain any liquid, and pat them dry.
  6. Optionally, brush a small amount of Dijon mustard on the wide end of the dough triangle.
  7. Place one mini cocktail sausage at the wide end of a dough triangle.
  8. Roll the dough around the sausage, tucking the point underneath to secure it.
  9. Repeat for all sausages and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or greased with cooking spray.
  10. In a small bowl, whisk the egg to create an egg wash.
  11. Brush the egg wash over the tops of each mini pig in a blanket.
  12. Optionally, sprinkle poppy seeds on top.
  13. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  14. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
  15. Transfer to a serving platter and serve warm or at room temperature.
  16. Offer a variety of dipping sauces like ketchup, mustard, or barbecue sauce.
  17. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
