Enjoy these delicious Crescent Roll Apple Dumplings, where tart apple wedges are enveloped in flaky crescent dough, baked until golden, and topped with a sweet, bubbly sauce. Ideal for dessert or a sweet breakfast treat!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cans of refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 2 medium-sized apples (preferably Granny Smith)
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 cup of Mountain Dew (or any lemon-lime soda)
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter (1 stick)
  • Optional: Vanilla ice cream for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Wash and peel the apples. Core and cut them into 8 wedges each.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon.
  4. Roll each apple wedge in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until well coated. Set aside.
  5. Open the crescent roll dough and separate it into 16 triangles.
  6. Place one apple wedge at the wide end of a crescent roll triangle and roll it up, tucking the point underneath. Repeat for all apple wedges.
  7. Place the rolled dumplings seam-side down in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  8. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  9. Pour the melted butter mixture evenly over the dumplings.
  10. Pour the Mountain Dew over the dumplings without mixing.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown and apples are tender.
  12. Let cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.
  13. Serve warm, drizzled with the buttery sauce, and optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

  • Experiment with different apple varieties for unique flavors.
  • Add chopped nuts to the apple filling for extra crunch.
  • A splash of vanilla extract can enhance the buttery sauce.
